RANDOLPH DUKE SPF is a new sun safe fashion apparel collection created by designer Randolph Duke to address the increasing demand for apparel that is both UV safe and fashionable.
The debut is collection is a unique fusion of Randolph Duke's inimitable style and sensibility that has become a hallmark of his work over the years.......whether it be his elegant and classic swimwear designs that always transcended limitation to swimming or sport with their American sportswear chic, or the glamourous and now infamous images he created on the red carpet for the most famous women in the world including Oscar winners Hilary Swank, Marcia Gay Harden and Kim Basinger, actresses Jennifer Lopez, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Anniston, and Halle Berry to name just a few.....and of course Icons like Angelina Jolie who plunged in to the Bevery Hilton Hotel's pool after winning her first Golden Globe Award wearing Mr. Duke's equally iconic 10,000 Swarovski crystal pave encrusted maillot gown, creating a new age of Hollywood glamour with a decidedly modern take on Haute and effortless. And of course, his designs for legend Barbra Streisand.
Randolph Duke known for being always being ahead of the curve, indentifying the pulse of the times, and creating products that are both needed and beautiful has done it again with a collection dedicated to dispelling any notion that sun safe apparel needs to be exsclusive on any level. "Why shouldn't people be able to look stylish, find beautiful, well made fashionable clothing, and be able to simultaneously address their concerns for protecting themselves against harmful affects of prollonged sun exposure?" asks Mr. Duke, why not indeed! It is this kind of thinking that has kept Mr. Duke relevant in an industry changing at lightening speed. His foray into electronic retailing came much earlier than most other designers when he began selling with electronic retail giant QVC in 1992, and later when he built over 10 years an empire on HSN (Home Shopping Network) of fashionable, signature apparel and accessories inculding jewelry, handbags, shoes, fragrance and beauty.
Mr. Duke came upon the idea for RANDOLPH DUKE SPF at the end of 2011 when he prepared a show for the Melanoma Foundation's annual fund (and awareness) raiser which took place at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach Florida in February of 2012. Met with a standing ovation the capsule collection of sun safe apparel was an instant hit with the 500 + influential women ( and men) whom were in attendance. It feautured looks from the collection including, sun safe lifestyle swimwear that look as good off the beach and out of the pool under a jacket, paired with with an eveing skirt, or worn as just about any underpinning a woman could need. If that were'nt enough he followed with terrific takes on classic American sportswear taking their cue from sportif/active lifestyles that define American style.
