Flow Announces Johnny West as Vice President of Sales
July 7, 2005. San Clemente, CA- Flow, the San Clemente based distributor of snowboard bindings, boots, and boards, is pleased to announce the naming of Johnny West as the new Vice President of Sales. In his new position, West will be the driving force behind sales for the US distributorship of all Flow products.
“Flow has continued to thrive mostly due to the fact that our binding is truly a revolution in binding technology, and the market has finally embraced this as a fact. Additionally, a huge effort has been put forth to build the infrastructure which supports the brand’s growth and continues to drive the brand to the top. Equally as important, we have been aggressively recruiting and acquiring talented veterans from the industry to come on board. They bring valuable industry knowledge and raw talent to the company,” said Anthony Scaturro, President of Flow International “Johnny brings with him nearly 15 years of industry experience, as well as a track record of proven ability. He has what it takes.”
Johnny West is a familiar name in the action sports industry. Prior to Flow, West was the Global Brand Director for K2 Snowboarding in Seattle, WA. West has also worked with O’Neill as the Sales and Marketing Manager for the Snow Division, as well as Generator Distribution and Lamar Snowboards. His ability is not only on the business side of the industry, but also in the participation in the sports themselves. As an avid snowboarder, surfer, and competitive motocross rider, he has the capability to view the industry from the athlete’s point of view.
Recently, the company has undergone many strategic changes; the Flow headquarters was relocated from San Francisco to San Clemente in order to aid in the expansion of the growing organization, and the acquisition of an in-house warehouse to better serve customer needs.
“In addition to the physical and geographic changes the company has made, the appointment of West as the new VP of Sales is another addition to the positive direction the company is going.” Said Scaturro.
“I am stoked to be back home in Southern California and working with Flow.” Said West “As the originator and market leader of the convenience / hybrid binding market, and with growing board and boot programs all backed by a talented product group, solid sales force, and team, I look for many great things in the future of Flow. Not to mention our new offices are top notch and give us an incredible work environment to build from.”

Flow is the originator of the reclining high-back binding, since it’s beginnings in 1995; Flow has been the leader in sales of this technology. Over the past ten years, in addition to perfecting the reclining high back, Flow introduced it’s own line of boots and boards, which have seen increases in sales every year.
Today Flow is known for it’s ease of use, comfort, and advanced control gained when using their products. Most recently, Flow introduced “Triple Threat Technology,” a system of boots, boards, and bindings designed to heighten ease of use and control when used together. The success of Triple Threat was evidenced this year by the excellence of the Flow Pro Team riders, Antti Autti, Risto Mattila, and Scotty Lago.
