OS3 Distribution (OS3) signs skateboard licensing agreements with Dewey Weber and Gerry Lopez
July 25, 2005
SANTA BARBARA, Ca. (July 25, 2005) – OS3 Distribution (OS3) has signed skateboard licensing agreements with legendary surfboard manufacturer Dewey Weber and with pipeline master, Gerry Lopez. Under the terms of the separate agreements, OS3 will design, manufacture, and distribute skateboards throughout the U.S. and International markets. The new product lines will be exhibited at the ASR show and available to retailers in September.
“We are thrilled to have signed agreements with the Weber family and with Gerry Lopez,” sys Kris Zacharias, CEO of OS3 Distribution. “It’s an honor to work with both of these legends and apply their love of surfing into surf inspired skateboards.”
Unknown to most people today, Dewey Weber is the original manufacturer of long skateboards and their first long skateboard dates back to the mid-60’s. OS3 will continue the tradition of these long surfboard replica skateboards established by Dewey Weber by manufacturing skateboard replicas of classic Dewey Weber surfboards such as the best selling surfboard ever, the Performer.
Staying true to the progressive nature that Gerry Lopez brought to surfing, OS3 will manufacture surf inspired skateboards reminiscent of the classic boards that Gerry rode at Pipeline during the ‘70’s. Gerry Lopez skateboards will also incorporate his second love – snowboarding.
