(Oct. 25, 2022) — Primus, the Swedish cooking equipment brand, celebrates 130 years of bringing innovation to outdoor cooking, fueling adventures and enabling memorable outdoor dining experiences. In 2022, Primus is commemorating its 130-year anniversary with a collection of heritage logo gear, complete with special packaging that features original graphics from the early days of Primus. This production run is limited and will become a collector’s edition.
Primus was founded in a small blacksmith workshop in central Stockholm, when F.W. Lindqvist and J.V. Svenson created the world’s first soot-free kerosene stove. As it was the first, they decided to call it Primus, meaning “first” in Latin. From that point on, the name Primus became synonymous with reliable stoves that became the primary choice for people heading off on first ascents and demanding expeditions.
