January 26, 2023 (SALT LAKE CITY) – Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) will be at Brighton Resort, UT for the third stop on the Love Your Peaks, presented by Suja, winter event series on January 28th. B4BC’s Love Your Peaks is a winter event series and fundraising campaign in support of breast cancer awareness at resorts nationwide. Participants will be heading to Brighton to get outside in support of B4BC’s mission of a healthy and active lifestyle as the best means of preventing breast cancer while raising funds for the organization’s education, prevention and survivorship programs. The Love Your Peaks Brighton Resort event will include a Pink Poker run, Tribute Ride, raffles and auction.
Locals know that Brighton receives an average of more than 500 inches of snow each year! Their terrain is incredible offering chutes, cliffs, terrain parks and of course groomed trails that are all accessed by high-speed quad lifts. Families can ride up the same lift together, peel off onto different trails – beginner, intermediate or expert – and all meet at the bottom to ride the lift together again.
On-site registration is Saturday, January 28th from 9 – 11 a.m. at the B4BC table inside of the Brighton Center and Pink Poker runs from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. across the resort. Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony at 2 p.m. on the Alpine Rose deck with the raffle immediately following.
The Pink Poker Run is an all ages and abilities fun and interactive way to explore the mountain and support breast cancer awareness and prevention. Registration is a minimum donation of $25 per person but additional fundraising is encouraged and top fundraisers will win sweet prizes, link to register and fundraise here. Participants visit various checkpoints around the mountain to collect pink playing cards. The people with the three best poker hands at the end of the run will win prizes from B4BC and their partners. Participants are encouraged to wear their best pink costume as “bonus cards,” and will be awarded for best pink spirit and attitude.
Other activities include a tribute ride, Suja Organic Juice sampling, live music, raffles, and an auction.
B4BC will also be encouraging virtual participation through monthly raffles and a weekly photo contest from January through May. Each week, B4BC will pick one winner at random that posts on Instagram using the hashtag #loveyourpeaks and tags @b4bc. The winner will receive a prize pack from B4BC partners.
