FLOW to release new NXT binding series at SIA Tradeshow January 23-26.

San Clemente, CA January 16, 2006- Flow, the originator of the reclining hi-back binding, announced today that it would introduce a new binding series at the Snowsports Industries of America tradeshow, which will be held in Las Vegas next week.  Flow was the first to bring the reclining hi-back binding to the market at the ISPO tradeshow in 1995.  The new technology caught much resistance at the start of its introduction to the market, however, in the 10 years since the first glimpse of the Flow binding, sales have risen to number two worldwide.  With this history of innovation and overcoming market resistance, the new binding series to be introduced next week is coming to the show with much anticipation and excitement.

There are a few key features that set the NXT binding series apart from the already unique Flow binding.  The geometry of the patented power triangle has been further refined to deliver immediate, controlled response.  This geometry is also now fixed in place via the unique side pods which streamline the set-up and adjustment process.  With a few turns of a single screw each side of the binding, the heel cup can be adjusted for a perfect, custom fit.

The new modular hiback is also a breakthrough in function and design.  By utilizing multiple materials, forged aluminum, carbon and a nylon and glass fiber composite, each engineered to maximize their individual properties; the ultimate performance was achieved while significantly reducing the weight of the binding.

Coinciding with the release of the NXT binding is the release of the I-Flex Powerstrap.  Flow’s patented 3D shaping has also been taken to the next level with the new strap which continues to offer the best power transmission through its one-piece design, with new conforming properties resulting in comfort and control never before found in a Powerstrap.   The I-Strap offers the comfort and performance of the original Flow Powerstrap, but with the look of a two-strap binding.

If attending the SIA tradeshow, the Flow booth can be found at booth number C 1030.  In addition to the NXT, Flow will be exhibiting new board technology called Whiskey X in which titanal is placed inside the board construction for better energy transmission from rider to board, as well as a range of new boot features including articulating cuff and tongue, Featherweight construction, and Airtek insole.

Flow is the originator of the reclining high-back binding, since it’s beginnings in 1995; Flow has been the leader in sales of this technology.  Over the past ten years, in addition to perfecting the reclining high back, Flow introduced it’s own line of boots and boards, which have seen increases in sales every year.
Today Flow is known for it’s ease of use, comfort, and advanced control gained when using their products.  Most recently, Flow introduced “Triple Threat Technology,” a system of boots, boards, and bindings designed to heighten ease of use and control when used together.  The success of Triple Threat was evidenced this year by the excellence of the Flow Pro Team riders, Antti Autti, Risto Mattila, and Scotty Lago.
