Hestra Operations Manager Promoted to Director of Marketing and Operations

August 31, 2006—Hestra USA announces the promotion of Melanie Steinberg from Operations and Customer Service Manager to Director of Marketing and Operations for Hestra USA.  In her new role, Melanie will be responsible for overseeing all marketing functions as well as other operational tasks including maintaining customer service contact. 

Melanie’s career has been focused on the ski/snowboard industry for the last 6 years.  A graduate from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Melanie has degree in Marketing with a minor in Economics.  She previously worked for Cold as Ice, Never Summer Snowboards, and Spyder Active Sports/Section Outerwear.

“I believe that Hestra’s gloves are among the finest in the industry.  Hestra is a household name among skiers in Europe and I hope to mirror that here.  Hestra’s USA presence has grown monumentally in the Western region, and there are plenty of additional opportunities that I plan to pursue.”

Dino Dardano, President of Hestra USA, feels confident in Melanie’s ability to oversee the business’ operations, as well as her expanded role in the marketing department.  Dino states: “Melanie has proven day in and day out that she is worthy of this position.  It was an easy decision for me to make.”

Hestra Gloves was formed in 1936 in Hestra, Sweden to provide gloves for lumberjacks who needed wear-resistant, durable gloves. Soon after that, as the sport of skiing became more popular, they turned their focus to creating gloves for warmth, and water resistance as well as durability. Hestra Gloves still designs and tests their gloves in Sweden.
