Ski Lake Tahoe Taps Hayter Communications to Guide National PR Campaign

SAN FRANCISCO (Sept. 7, 2006) – Ski Lake Tahoe, the marketing collaboration between seven of Lake Tahoe’s premier resorts, signed Hayter Communications to drive its nationwide public relations campaign. Hayter, a Seattle- and San Francisco-based action sports, travel and active lifestyle public relations firm will work with the marketing and communications teams from Alpine Meadows, Heavenly, Kirkwood, Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe, Northstar-at-Tahoe, Sierra-at-Tahoe, and Squaw Valley USA to promote the region’s resort improvements and activities, snow conditions, environmental initiatives, hospitality industry, corporate partnership programs, and overall winter sports and lifestyle appeal offered by the Lake Tahoe region.

Record snowfall and subsequent bluebird powder days drove millions of skiers and snowboarders to the slopes of Ski Lake Tahoe’s resorts during the 2005-06 season. Ski Lake Tahoe signed Hayter Communications to build on the momentum from last season and grow the number of skier and snowboarder visits from Southern California, the Southwest and major markets east of the Rockies.

“Tahoe delivers a versatile, exciting and completely unique on- and off-snow experience that no other destination can touch,” said Ryan Hayter, HC’s president. “The terrain, the monster snow conditions, the entertainment options and accessibility make it a world-class destination that should be a must on every rider’s life list.”

Ski Lake Tahoe’s resorts, bridging the border between California and Nevada, feature more skiable acreage in close proximity than any other U.S. destination, more than 300 days of sunshine per year, spectacular scenery surrounding the alpine waters of Lake Tahoe, and more entertainment outlets to appease all interests from the young-and-beautiful to families and empty nesters.
