“Know?Show” Goes Nation Wide
Fall 07 Shows to Be Held in Vancouver and Montreal
For Immediate Release: Vancouver, BC – October 13, 2006 – KNOW?SHOW, (www.knowshow.ca<http://www.knowshow.ca> ) Canada’s only true skate, snow and lifestyle fashion based trade show, announced today that they will be adding an eastern show to it’s schedule starting this February.
KNOW?SHOW will now be able to cater to the Skate, Snow and Lifestyle fashion market coast to coast with two regional shows, one in Vancouver and one in Montreal. “Canada is too big to expect everyone to meet on one coast or the other,” said Ben Couves, one of the shows original founders. “Everything made sense; we have great people out in Montréal who share our vision that it is possible to run a successful show where buyers and exhibitors can go to get business done while having a good time in a progressive atmosphere” added Perry Pugh, also one of the show’s founders.
KNOW?SHOW East will be headed up by Jesse Bowden and Stefan Gauthier of Tiger Distribution, and brothers Oli Van Roost and Mer Van Roost of Rekognize Design and Drop respectively. “It’s been over 5 years since there has been a proper venue for boutique and specialty skate/snow brands to show and sell their brands as a collective group.” notes Mer. “With such a large shift in our market towards more fashion forward street wear, it makes perfect sense that there should be a trade show that caters to these brands and their customers on the east coast as well. That is the purpose of KNOW?SHOW East,” adds Bowden.
KNOW?SHOW East will be held February 11th-13th in Old Montreal’s Marche Bonsecours, widely acknowledged as one of Canada’s finest heritage buildings. “We chose this venue firstly for it’s design, it’s heritage and it’s location but also because it truly encompasses the atmosphere we want to create with this show. We wanted to avoid the standard trade show dungeon and offer our exhibitors a venue that is unique and a pleasure to conduct business in,” adds Jesse
Buyers can expect the same level of comfort including a licensed lounge area, live DJ, video entertainment and other amenities that have been welcomed at the past western shows, as well as a nationwide focus of content in KNOW?MAG, the show’s official guide and magazine.
Show exhibitor and industry mogul Garret Louie (Timebomb Trading/NLA) had this reaction to the news: “Wow!! I have been waiting for this for the many years that I have been in business. This is amazing news and can't wait to be a part of it. Great job to the whole BROSHOW crew. Sweet, no more skis and hockey gloves!”
KNOW?SHOW West will once again be held at the world renowned Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre, from February 24th-26th, 2007. Floor space will again be expanded, as the show will take on the Convention Centre’s Parkview Terrace. This elegant upper level room will effectively be adding more than 8000 sq/ft of much needed show floor, after two sold out shows and a ever filling waiting list. Nick Brown remarks: “We are committed to growing our show to encompass as many of the key brands in our market as we can, while giving our returning exhibitors the room to grow within our show as well.”
Exhibitor applications for both shows will be available shortly. Both East and West shows will handle exhibitor sales separately. For information about the Montreal Show please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. For information regarding the West show please contact email@example.com.
“This has been a goal of ours for a long time and it’s hard to describe how excited we are to finally bring the east a proper skate snow and lifestyle fashion trade show. We look forward to seeing you there!”
