Instinct Clothing Continues Expansion with the Appointment of John Galas as Northwest Sales Rep
(Santa Barbara, Ca) March 7, 2007 ~INSTINCT Clothing continues to expand with the appointment of John Galas to head up sales for the Pacific Northwest region.
“John comes to INSTINCT Clothing with a distinct advantage in helping to promote the expansion of our clothing line” states Tom Brown, VP of Sales and Marketing. “John has been actively involved in youth organizations both coaching and managing soccer teams throughout the Northwest region. His affiliation with youth organizations will be very helpful in penetrating our target market.”
Not only is John a familiar face among the youth organizations, he is no rookie when it comes to the action sports market. While living in Southern California, he frequented surf spots around the local region as well as travels to Costa Rica and Mexico.
“I took an interest in the action sports market several years ago after meeting Dave Ray, who at the time was a sales rep for Sims Snowboards, on a trip to Costa Rica. I realized during our discussions that the action sports industry is a way to remove myself from mainstream sports”, states Galas. “Having been a collegiate and youth soccer coach for the past 15 years, joining INSTINCT Clothing will allow me to follow my passion.”
Most recently John was the Category Showcase Manager for the Snowsports Industry of America at the 2007 trade show in Las Vegas.
“With the recent addition of several new retailers coming onboard, including Hot Spot Clothing in Hood River, Lincoln City Surf Shop in Lincoln City and Gorge Performance in Portland, it was necessary to place a rep in position to help service the growing market,” states Tom Brown. “The growth potential in the Oregon and Washington region is huge. We expect to see some very good numbers come from this particular market.”
INSTINCT is known for their surf clothing dating back to the 1980’s. Originally founded by Shaun Tomson, the line was one of the most recognized surf brands of its era. With the recent purchase of licensing rights, INSTINCT has re-launched the clothing line and targets young boys and toddlers ages 2 to 14.
