Established and Emerging Brands Line up for Return of ASR Holiday

ASR Holiday comes to Orange County Fairgrounds May 23-24

San Juan Capistrano, CA (March 16, 2007) – The top emerging and established brands are hopping on board for ASR Holiday. With almost 2-months until the return of ASR Holiday, a solid brand line up is building on the continued strength of the action sports industry’s holiday buying period. Billabong, Quiksilver, Hurley, O’Neill, …Lost, Roxy, Element, I Path, Rip Curl, Fox Racing, Rusty and Alpinestars are just a few of the industry’s strongest brands previewing full winter specialty lines to influential buyers at ASR Holiday.
“We’re once again providing a convenient and relaxed platform for the action sports industry to do conduct its holiday business,” says Andy Tompkins, ASR Show Director. “Last year’s event demonstrated that there is demand for a trade event to service the holiday buying period.”

The holiday show runs May 23-24, 2007 at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, CA. ASR Holiday brings together top manufacturers and retail buyers explicitly for the holiday buying season. Created in response to the explosive growth in 4th quarter business for surf, skate, snow and youth culture companies, ASR Holiday fills retailer and exhibitor needs in a casual, yet productive 2-day event.
Boutique and art driven brands Paul Frank, Howe, Stussy and RVCA will join emerging brands such as Atwater, Myrtle and Tavik at ASR Holiday. “We launched at the Holiday ASR last and are excited to be back, this year, even closer to home,” says Dean Bradley, President of Atwater. “ We find the Holiday show very refreshing, very focused and we look forward to being there.”

"Holiday is not just important to O'Neill, it is the most important time for our retailers as well.  A good holiday can make or break a retailer's year,” says Charlie Setzler, Vice President of Sales, O'Neill Clothing. “With holiday, there is an emphasis in categories like fleece, outerwear, long sleeve wovens and thermals that provide a different creative element from the rest of the year.”

Previously, holiday buying would stretch throughout the spring and early summer for retails, with reps relying solely on in-store visits to show holiday lines.  “The holiday selling window is 50% of our total sales for our stores, it is important for us to see all the key vendors under one roof,” says Milo and Julie Meyers, owners Hanger 94 in San Diego.
