OGIO Nominated for Outsanding Design by Surf Industry
Gear bag manufacturer OGIO has been nominated by the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) for the innovative design of its 9800 gear bag. The company was notified that its best-selling oversize bag is one of only five products nominated for the "Accessory Product of the Year." SIMA will announce winners at its annual Surf Summit in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, May 16-19, 2007.
The SIMA Image Awards identify the surf industry's most influential companies and recognize them for their efforts to advance and grow the industry. According to its web site, SIMA's Accessory Product of the Year "is awarded to the accessory product at retail in 2006 that featured the most exciting design, appeal, or innovation."
"This is a huge nomination for us and one that validates the innovation and quality of our product design," explains OGIO Marketing Director Aaron Favero. "We are incredibly honored to be recognized by a group as prestigious as SIMA along with the brands and products that have preceded us in this category."
OGIO's 9800 bag has won accolades in a multitude of venues, both because of its sharp looks and ultra durable construction. A structural load equalizing deck (SLED) feature wraps around the 9800's base, providing a steady platform that keeps this behemoth of a bag upright even when overstuffed. With the aid of oversize off-road wheels and a retractable Pullman handle, this bag travels in any venue while easily transporting excessively heavy loads.
