Hundreds of Events Flow from ASR onto San Diego Streets
Huge prize purses, 2 runway shows, world movie premieres, seminars and fundraisers round out 3 packed days at ASR, September 7-9th

San Juan Capistrano, CA (September 4, 2007) – ASR arrives in San Diego, September 7-9th with one of the most complete event offerings ever. Make time during the busy 3-days to check out the eS Game of SKATE, two days of the ASR Runway show co-sponsored by Foam Magazine, movie premieres and fundraisers that add to the unique ASR experience. On the business end, ASR’s free seminar series provides a forum where retailers and exhibitors alike can learn how to grow their businesses.

“The amount of creative energy the entire industry puts into events during ASR, makes the event so much more than a trade show,” says Andy Tompkins, ASR Show Director. “Where else do art exhibitions, enormous fundraisers, runway shows, global skate contests and world film premieres all come together in one place?”

The influence of fashion on the action sports industry is most clear on the ASR Runway co-sponsored by Foam Magazine. This September, the Runway is in full effect on both Friday and Saturday afternoon at 2PM. The high-energy Runway explodes with the hottest trends for spring 2008 pulled right off the show floor.

Action sports’ efforts to preserve the environment are highlighted at ASR, which is a 100% wind powered event. In the ‘Green Room,’ meeting room 6B, see the latest eco-conscious products and initiatives coming out of the green movement. Auctions, a mural, parties and a poker tournament will take place at ASR to raise money for environmental and humanitarian initiatives.

The biggest prize purse ever, $20,000 is raising the stakes for the eS Game of SKATE presented by Boost Mobile. On Saturday, 32 amateurs go head-to-head with 32 pros including P.J. Ladd, Chris Cole, Andrew Reynolds and Paul Rodriguez. Also in the skate area is the brand new Skate Hardgoods section, the inaugural SkateDesigns Vintage Skateboard Auction, CreateAskate, a mini-ramp, street course and the DVS Beer Garden. Also in the skate area, Juliette and the Licks will be on the Vestal Stage at 5PM on Saturday in a free concert open to the public.

Surfboards take center stage in the ASR/SIMA Board Builders Pavilion. Within the Pavilion, check out the boards in the Reef Board Build Off and bid on one of a kind silent auction items, both benefiting the SIMA Humanitarian Fund.

The evenings are deeply scheduled with snowboard, surf and skate movie premieres, a special screening of the motion picture The 11th Hour, fashion and awards shows, fundraisers, including the 4th Annual Liquid Nation Ball on Saturday the 8th, and hot industry parties with national music acts.
