Ross Garrett Joins Airborne Media

Ross Garrett will join the team at Airborne Media LLC as its Group Publisher and President of Media. In this role, Garrett will oversee FOAM Magazine, Girls Learn To Ride (GLTR), digital media initiatives, additional print products, events, sampling programs, and an expanding portfolio of media properties.

Garrett has worked in the media business for nine years, most recently as the Publisher of Surfing Magazine.  During his time at Surfing, Garrett created worldwide events, drove audience and revenue growth, secured lucrative and instrumental partnerships, and launched ecological, digital and mobile initiatives.  Prior to his work at Surfing Magazine, Garrett worked with leading apparel company, Patagonia, where he helped with strategy on their surf inspired apparel initiative.  Before that, Garrett was Executive Editor at Surfer Magazine.

"The opportunity for Airborne is enormous," says Garrett. "I'm excited to lead the existing properties to greater focus, influence and prosperity while expanding the portfolio with complementary products."

Airborne Media LLC was formed in 2005 by entrepreneur Jeff Berg. Since that time, Airborne has acquired FOAM Magazine, a fashion and lifestyle magazine speaking to young, creative and independent girls living an outdoor, beach oriented lifestyle. Airborne also owns Girls Learn to Ride (GLTR), a female-only action sports internet community and event series designed to give females of all ages the basic skills and confidence necessary to participate in skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, motocross, bmx and mountain biking. Additionally, Airborne publishes specialty print products like their recent coffee table book on Jeffreys Bay.

"We're extremely pleased and fortunate to have one of the rising stars in the publishing world join us in this important role" says Airborne Media LLC Founder and Managing Member, Jeff Berg.  "Ross brings the skill-sets and passion to develop world class media properties that will leverage existing distribution channels we have access to, and fill voids in the marketplace."

In addition to his role at Airborne Media LLC, Garrett holds an Advisory Board seat with Surf Industry Manufacturer's Association, and also serves on the Board of Directors for Life Rolls On, a youth oriented non-profit focused on improving the lives of young people who have been affected by spinal cord injury.
