Studio 411 Nabs Four 2008 X-Dance Nominations
199 Lives, Against the Grain, Believe and Seven Sunny Days to Compete in Premier Action Sports Film Festival

Four Studio411 films have been nominated for the 2008 X-Dance Action Sport Film Festival to be held January 19th-23rd in Park City, Utah.

The 2008 Studio411 nominees take action sports filmmaking and story telling to the next level with documentaries about Travis Pastrana (199 Lives) and Tara Dakides (Against the Grain) as well as a profile of Tanner Hall (Believe) and the filmmaking skills of Matchstick Productions (Seven Sunny Days).

199 Lives by Godfrey Entertainment (Nitro Circus Series), is an intimate portrait of Travis Pastrana. At just 22, with a blend of talent, determination and a little luck, Pastrana has become a living legend as a motocross racer, FMX rider, action sports hero, filmmaker, and Rally Car driver. This documentary goes beyond the antics and stunts that have been well documented in the on-going “Travis and the Nitro Circus” film series, and provides a rare glimpse into his childhood, motocross racing career, his rise and dominance in FMX, the injuries that almost sidelined his career, his transition to Rally Car racing and his continuing drive to push his personal limits.

Against the Grain by Josh Landan (Flow, Medication) provides a unique look into the life of one of snowboarding’s most celebrated athletes, Tara Dakides. Tara has not only triumphed in the world of  snowboarding but she has conquered drug addition, a suicide attempt, and many career-threatening injuries to be where she is today - a triumphant survivor who will go down in history as one of the most influential female snowboarders of our time.

Believe, a film by Constantine Papanicolaou, is the follow up to last year’s Show & Prove. This film continues the pursuit of Tanner Hall along with Seth Morrison, Kyle Petersen, Sean Pettit, Callum Pettit, Anthony Borownowski, Ian Provo, Dan Treadway, CR Johnson and many more as they travel the world and take skiing to a level unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.

Seven Sunny Days by Matchstick Productions, the producers of last year’s Powder Magazine’s “Move of the Year” brings the best stories of 2007 to the screen in this epic new ski film, chronicling the foremost skiers in the world as they search for deep snow, big kickers, and the experience of a lifetime. This film features Simon Dumont, Sammy Carlson, Jon Olsson, TJ Schiller, Mark Abma, Hugo Harrisson, Shane McConkey, Ingrid Backstrom, Sarah Burke, Eric Hjorleifson, Mike Wilson, Rory Bushfield, Chris Rubens, Colby West, CR Johnson, James Heim, JT Holmes, and Mike Douglas.

“Studio411 has long standing relationships with the top producers and brands, and we are working very hard to develop young and upcoming talent.  Together we continue to push the boundaries of action sports,” said David Brooks, senior vice president, business development, Sportnet.  “We are very excited for our nominated partners and happy to see them receive the accolades they deserve.”
