199 Lives & Against the Grain Claim Top Honors at 2008 X-DANCE

199 Lives claimed Best Action Sport Film and Against the Grain was awarded Best Biography at this year’s X-Dance Action Sports Film Festival held in Salt Lake City. Other Studio411 films that received nominations include Seven Sunny Days (Matchstick Productions) and Believe (Train Jump Entertainment).

Directed by Gregg Godfrey, 199 Lives is a documentary that explores the life of action sports phenomenon Travis Pastrana. At the age of 22, Travis is a living legend as a motocross racer, FMX rider, action sports hero, filmmaker, and rally car driver.  Produced by Jeremy Rawle (Nitro Circus Series, Lock N’ Load), 199 Lives is slated for a spring 2008 theatrical release followed by domestic and international distribution.

Against the Grain tells the story of one of snowboarding’s most celebrated athletes, Tara Dakides.  Narrated by Alecia “P!nk” Moore, the film provides a revealing look at Tara’s most devastating moments and greatest triumphs.  From an early drug addition to her amazing professional accomplishments, this film tells the true story of a champion who has not only triumphed in the world of snowboarding but has triumphed in life.  Produced by Josh Landan, Against the Grain is slated for an early 2008 theatrical release.

This year’s other Studio411 X-Dance nominations include Best Editor and Best Director for 199 Lives and Best Soundtrack for Believe.  In 2007, Studio411 was awarded at X-Dance for Sipping Jetsteams which won Best Cinematography and Lock N’ Load which won Athlete of the Year – Travis Pastrana.
