Solo Exhibition By Visiting Artist David Horvitz On Exhibition Through May 3rd
Closing Cocktail Reception For “To a Sunset in Palos Verdes” at siteLA on May 3rd at 9pm

siteLA Visionary In Residence Sarah Anderson has invited David Horvitz to assume the roll of her surrogate, collaborator and cat-sitter as she travels through Japan ( visit her blog at ).  David is a conceptual artist whose work focuses on open-ended communication, talking into a void, and the language of place. David's exhibition will be on display from now until May 3rd, and the siteLA gallery space is open to the public from 1pm to 6pm Wednesday through Saturday.

Every afternoon for the duration of the show, Horvitz will follow the setting sun in a daily commute from siteLA to Palos Verdes. He will take the bus west to watch and photograph the sun’s decent from one of his favorite cliffs. siteLA’s storefront window will advertise the times for each of these witnessed sunsets as itinerary, invitation and record of this repeated action. Horvitz encourages participation in his daily pilgrimage, and bus fair will be provided for those in need.

A free newsprint of related photographs by the artist along with a limited edition book containing work by Horvitz and an exhibition poster and postcards by Sarah Anderson is available at siteLA throughout the exhibition.

The May 3rd closing reception will feature the photographs taken from this social experiment, performances by Barr, Infinite Body, and an absent piece by Sarah’s performance/band, Lucky Dragons with Luke Fishbeck.
