Fox Launches Inaugural Re-Mix, Re-Design and Re-Construct Fashion Challenge
Finalists Compete Over Four Weeks, Finals this Saturday, August 16, 2008, All Are Invited!

Ten aspiring designers from The Art Institute of California – Orange County Fashion Design program, Saddleback College, FIDM, and even self taught, have been chosen to participate in a unique design challenge, Fox’s Re-Mix, Re-Design and Re-Construct Fashion Challenge. At stake is a fall back-to school wardrobe, cash prize, and the chance to earn a paid internship within the Fox design program.

Fox’s Re-Mix, Re-Design and Re-Construct Fashion Challenge requires designers to create at least two complete head to toe looks by re-mixing, and reconstructing back together with materials from Fox’s fall and holiday collections.

Fox gave each student a box of Fox clothing that included everything from surf trunks, motocross gear to beach towels, and everything in between. Their mission? To take the original pieces, tear them apart and re-construct them to create two brand new designs with the Fox brand and vibe in mind.

The students have developed their designs over a four week period with help and guidance from the Fox design staff. Fox designers have worked with the students in and out of class to explain who the Fox audience is and the design inspiration behind the fall and holiday line.

Fashion Marketing & Management majors at the Art Institute of California – Orange County have also competed by executing a model casting and competing to see who can develop the most effective grass-roots marketing campaign to promote attendance at the Re-Mix, Re-Design and Re-Construct Fashion Show. One winner will be awarded $300 in Fox product and the chance to earn a paid internship with the Fox marketing communications department.

This Saturday, August 16, the students’ work will debut at the Re-Mix, Re-Design, Re-Construct Fashion Show hosted at the new Fox Orange County Design Center in Irvine, CA. After the models walk the runway in their unique designs, a panel of judges will review and score the looks in the following four categories: innovation, aesthetics, process, and how their looks fit the Fox customer. The event is open to the public, to attend send your name of all attendees to rsvp@foxhead.com. Event runs from 5p – 8p. There will be a runway show featuring the latest Fox looks for Fall in conjunction with Foam magazine prior to the Design finalists’ looks hitting the runway. Guests will also recieve Fox, Foam, CD's from Atlantic Records, Anti- records, and Keep A Breast goodies!
