Oxbow Surfboards Expands With West Coast Presence

Oxbow Surfboards is pleased to announce the hiring of Tom Brown to the west coast sales force.  Tom will be handling sales for the central coast of California in addition to the Northern California region.

Tom is no stranger to the surf industry.  After working closely with Shaun Tomson at Solitude, he later held the position of Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Instinct Clothing.  As Sales Manager at Life On A Board, he was instrumental in gaining a wide distribution to surf shops and small retailers up and down the California coast.  His most recent position includes sales rep for Oxbow Clothing.

“I am thrilled to bring Oxbow Surfboards on board.  I am confident I will be able to market the brand in a manner that will support the expansion efforts on the West Coast”, states Brown.  “The SUP market particularly thrills me.  This new addition to the surf industry has tremendous growth potential.”

Oxbow produces super high quality fiberglass boards.  While most boards from Asia come from Chinese factories, Oxbow has partnered with a highly regarded factory in Thailand.  Their collection consists of all shapes and sizes.  Beginning with the small wave specialist Retro Fish to the Hybrid Flyer, that has a “do all” attitude.  With a mix of performance it allows the rider a short board outline with a big board ease of use.  The more conventional Mini Malibu offers gentle rocker lines with lots of volume under the surfer.  Also offered as part of the Oxbow line is the traditional Longboard, with a mix of modern day lines and shapes along with the elements that allow the surfer to express himself with ease.  Finally, Oxbow has broke ground with the new Stand Up Paddle (SUP) offerings.  “Combined with fabulous graphics, we are considered by many to be the most competitive priced SUP on the market”, states Brown.  “Utilizing performance longboard oriented rocker templates with a thinned out nose the Oxbow SUP is a great all- around performance board in waves and on flat water”.
