FUEL TV Reaches New Local Markets; Virigina Beach and More
LOS ANGELES—Fox Cable Networks announced that it has reached a multi-year agreement with Cox Communications to increase the distribution of FUEL TV in the MSO’s Virginia Beach, Northern Virginia, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and Gainesville, Florida markets. Cox will also begin rolling out service of FX HD and SPEED HD as part of the deal that was completed in December.
With the additional carriage, FUEL TV (the only television network covering the lifestyle and culture of action sports, including skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, BMX, freestyle motocross, and wakeboarding) will now be seen in 26 million total homes. FX HD and SPEED HD initially will be available in more than 600,000 homes on Cox systems.
“We are thankful for Cox’s increased commitment to FUEL TV and its dynamic young audience. These new deals for FX HD and SPEED HD keep those networks on a tremendous growth curve,” said Mike Hopkins, President, Affiliate Sales and Marketing, Fox Cable Networks. “Cox continues to be a valued partner in the distribution of our cable networks, and we are looking forward to working with Cox to market these networks to its subscribers around the country.”
