WASHINGTON, DC (March 14, 2013) - The snow sports industry annually presents consumers with bold colors, prints and high-tech fabrics that also perform in the most demanding winter weather conditions. The aisles of the January's 2013 SIA Snow Show were filled with the best examples of these style elements translated into cutting-edge, functional style for the slopes, street, or après meet-ups.
The industry is better prepared to sell and consumers are better prepared to buy for the 2013.14 season with the style trend resources prepared by SnowSports Industries America (SIA). They identify the hottest and newest style trends in snow sports:

Next season's asymmetrical designs, diverse textures
plus bursts of color were on display during the Snow Fashion & Trends Show

Megatrends for 2013.14
The Stylesight Activewear Team has created
reference Trendboards that capture what the trend forecasters outlined in their
Megatrends seminar at the Snow Show and saw on the Show floor. The recap
highlights the overarching trends at SIA Snow Show for both the skiing and
snowboarding markets, honing in on a directional perspective while spotlighting
hardgoods, softgoods and key accessories. The 2013.14 season will see a lot of
matte primary color, electric florals, fractals, dark and edgy inspiration, tech
ready accessories, animal prints, backcountry inspiration, Native American and
Southwest styles, and industry collaborations taking products to the next level.
Stylesight Trendboards are now available online with examples from Snow Show
exhibitors.
"The lifestyle aspect really is the most important thing at the end of the day, because it's the inspiration that keeps us coming back," said Jessica Kaplan, Stylesight active editor/team lead, in the seminar.
Brands in the snow sports industry pay attention to trend forecasters when planning their lines. "We look to Stylesight all the time," said Lauren Myatt, women's product manager for Obermeyer.
