B$Z: Dagger’s Highly Acclaimed New Nomad Launches
February 3, 2016
“We modernized and optimized the new Nomad to make the world’s greatest creek boat even better,” said Snowy Robertson, designer for Dagger. “Paddlers trusted the Nomad for years, relying on its predictable performance to navigate the world’s most difficult whitewater. We took paddlers’ favorite features of the original Nomad—predictability, stability, and forgiveness—and combined it with modern necessities to create a kayak that is faster, tracks better, and resurfaces quicker.”
The newly redesigned creek boat is built for novices to experts and provides predictable performance in all whitewater conditions. Dagger added more rocker to help the bow carry past holes and over drops, increased the volume to resurface better and handle smoother in big water, and re-shaped decks to shed water faster. They added more internal space for knee and foot room and streamlined the ultra-safe and durable Contour Ergo Outfitting to reduce weight while retaining comfort, safety, and a heightened level of control.
The end result: an extensively tested kayak that is faster, more maneuverable, and more confidence inspiring in any environment. The Nomad carves and tracks better and charges past grabby holes. It makes a quick escape from the bottom of drops.
