Elliott Iverson

I have been employed in the motorsports industry since the late '70s, starting at Cycle Stop as a sales clerk and doing some purchasing. I spent a season at American Turbo Pak doing light machine work and assembly. In late '79 I began as a mechanic for Ricky Racer, later European Cycle Specialties, building cafe racers and rebuilding Nortons and other street machines. In 1982 I began working for Ron Wood as a shipping and receiving clerk, soon purchasing and monitoring inventory while also building race spec Wood-Rotax engines for the "kit bikes"? sold for amateur and professional dirt track racers around the US and Canada, and taking care of the needs of those racers when it came to information and parts. During that time from 1982 into the new millennium we built over 500 frames and kit motorcycles. With the rules changing, the focus was on a new market, ATVs. With the new market came new needs, such as photography for ads, new product releases and internet marketing. I have been involved in racing at many levels; as a racer in dirt track, offroad, road race and supermoto; as a promotor at the local level, and as a contributor of photos and text to publications such as Cycle World, Cycle News, San Diego Off Roader and Today's Cycle Coverage. My current involvement with the Southern California Flat Track Association includes stints as tech inspector, staging, starter and announcer. Haven't driven the grader. Yet.
