Edward Solt

Summary

An entrepreneur, publisher, writer, marketing and creative strategist, Ed has spent his career years making his passions and lifestyle a facet of his career.

After receiving his BA in English with a creative writing emphasis from California State University Channel Islands, he began his career as an Independent Contractor for the City of Torrance. He formed Torrance Surf Camp. During the offseason, EF International Language School employed him in the roles of teacher, activities coordinator, and tour guide. He networked and built relationships with the local business community. When asked to write a sales brochure, Ed got his first taste of proper copywriting

In 2010, Ed started working for Tri-Ed Distribution as the showroom manager effectively managing inventory flow and organizing events. He gained experience in gathering new clients as the “hunter/gather” as a salesperson. After consecutive months of million dollar sales, Ed's branch won "Branch of the Year."

Contributing to Easy Reader Newspaper since the age of 19, Ed took the opportunity to head the Easy Reader Surf Magazine, “Drop Zone” in direction, editing and sales. He transformed a 16-page insert in Easy Reader’s “Beach Magazine” with coverage of only the South Bay into its very own publication covering the entire county of Los Angeles with a circulation of over 15,000 distributed at over 200 Southern California locations.

In October, he promoted local surf culture directly by organizing the surf festival, the Hermosa Beach Hotdogger Championships. It became a very popular surf contest, bringing in the main sponsorships, a cash purse, and hundreds of spectators to Pier Avenue.

If it’s orchestrating a major event with representatives of the local community, writing and providing photos for a major in-depth profile, creatively strategizing a marketing campaign, managing and creating sales, or showing a class how to “pop-up” on a soft-top, Ed will make it happen with the utmost stoke.
