Analyzed data to class level to ensure that we were not sacrificing sales but right-sizing inventory to improve turn and profit. This became a companywide initiative. • Merchandise Allocation-Removed 11.2% of the women's apparel receipts from the initial set to flow. This allowed a smaller set quantity and additional flow units for the allocation team to react to sales. Initial set percentage went from 63.1% to 57.4%. Average flow went from 3.5 flows per item to 4.7% (+33.9%). • Merchandise Innovation-Implemented additional sizes in women's apparel, XS & XXL. Guided inventory planning team to determine the percentage these sizes should represent by store cluster and which stores should carry these additional sizes. As a direct result, these sizes went on to represent 12% of sales in 2017.
